SLOE GIN RECIPE


INGREDIENTS REQUIRED.

TO PRODUCE APPROX 1 LITRE OF SLOE GIN USING FROZEN SLOES.

1 LB SLOE BERRIES.
1 LITRE OF LONDON DRY GIN. (DO USE A GOOD QUALITY GIN).
CASTOR SUGAR APPROX 100 GRAMS.
4 DROPS OF VANILLA ESSENCE (OPTIONAL)



PLACE THE SLOEBERRIES IN A WIDE NECKED BOTTLE OR SEALABLE JAR, ADD SUGAR, VANILLA ESSENCE (OPTIONAL) THEN POUR IN THE GIN.

SHAKE WELL EACH DAY UNTIL THE SUGAR IS DISSOLVED AND LEAVE IN A COOL DARK PLACE.

SHAKE EVERY OTHER DAY FOR A WEEK AND THEN ONCE A WEEK FOR APPROX 6 TO 8 WEEKS.

SIMPLY POUR THE SLOE GIN INTO BOTTLES TAKING CARE NOT TO UNSETTLE THE SEDIMENT.

ITS THAT SIMPLE, THE GIN CAN BE SUBSTITUTED WITH VODKA OR WHISKY.

FOR DRIED SLOES SIMPLY BOIL A KETTLE OF WATER, ALLOW TO COOL TO A WARM TEMPERATURE ADD TO THE DRIED SLOES AND LEAVE TO SOAK OVERNIGHT, THEN FOLLW THE RECIPE AS ABOVE.
